Richard Pan voted to raise the gas tax, casting the deciding vote for the bill that has more than doubled what we pay. Even though gas prices are now nearly $6 per gallon in California, Pan said last month: "I do not regret my vote."

Under Richard Pan's policy, seniors would keep less of their Social Security: up to $2,600 less per year. Pan called this "crumbs" in defending his plan to take it back from seniors.

1. Social Security cuts and retirement age
Pan's claim: Kiley supported cutting Social Security benefits and raising the retirement age.
Complete Lie: Kevin Kiley has pledged to protect SS and Medicare
"I have pledged that I will always protect Social Security and Medicare."
Congressman Kiley supported the Social Security Fairness Act, which increased benefits for certain retired public employees and their spouses including teachers, firemen and police officers. That bill was signed into law by President Biden in 2025. Kiley has never voted to cut Medicare and in fact, this year has voted to raise medicare reimbursements for doctors to help alleviate the shortage of providers. 2. Prescription drug prices
Pan's claim: Kiley voted to make Americans pay more for prescription drugs.
Kiley's response: Pan's campaign mailer reportedly cited a congressional vote from summer 2022 HR 5376 #420.
Kiley wasn't sworn into Congress until January 2023, therfore couldn't have even have voted for such a bill.
